I am one of 11 artists working towards a curated exhibition entitled “Fires of Change,”
scheduled for September 2015 at the Coconino Center for the Arts in Flagstaff, Arizona,
and traveling to The University of Arizona Museum of Art, Tucson, Arizona
until April 3rd, 2016.
Progress made by volunteers crocheting and knitting a single line of black yarn to replicate the perimeter of the Gladiator Fire, Crown King, Arizona.
My piece, 100% Contained, is a poetic gesture – an organic line made by many hands – that intends to bring forth the beauty of a community effort linked by a common goal: raising awareness about the impact of fire on the land we inhabit.
